Selecting Machine Size

Selecting a Machine Size

Once you have made the decision between purchasing a hand-guided machine or what level of computerization fits your quilting needs, you will select your machine size. The throat space on each model determines the capacity for piece size, batting thickness, and pattern width. Since we offer four machine sizes, there is a Gammill machine to fit every need and budget.

What sizes are available?

Gammill Vision 2.0 and Elevate machines are available with an 18, 22, 26 or 30-inch head. The Statler is available with a 22, 26, or 30-inch head.

How do I know which model best suits my needs?

If you’re planning to machine quilt as a business, we would recommend either the 26 or 30 size machine.  The larger the throat size the less often you have to advance the quilt thus allowing for quicker completion.

If you are purchasing a hand-guided or Elevate machine but think you may want to add a Statler in the future, it is important to select a 22-inch machine or larger.
