At Gammill, we want to create confident quilters to help share love, comfort, and beauty through quilting. To make this possible we are excited to offer a portion of the Quilting with Confidence tour FREE to ALL quilters! During Confidence Essentials, we will cover topics for all quilters of all levels from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will host a Confidence Essentials during the first day of ALL our 40+ Quilting with Confidence events! Registration is required as events may fill.

We will end the day with a meet and greet with the Gammill educators and there will also be a chance for you to get a hands-on demo of a Gammill machine or Gammill products and accessories.

Caring For Your Longarm
The basics of caring for your longarm quilting machine for the most seamless quilting experience. This class covers the basics of how to avoid frustrating issues like tension problems and skipped stitches. We will discuss where to get help if problems do arise and have time for questions and answers. This class will help clear up some of the mysteries of your machine for a more enjoyable and better-quality quilting experience. This class includes information that is beneficial for all longarm quilters or those interested in longarm quilting.

Did You Know? Part 1 – How to and Fixes
Join us for this informative class where we’ll be covering common everyday longarming issues. From loading to basting, ripping, and even addressing how to fix a short backing and binding while still on the frame. Whether you’re a seasoned longarmer or just starting, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enhance your skills and troubleshoot common challenges! See you there!

Did You Know Part 2 – Fun Stuff
In Part 2, get ready for a dive into the exciting possibilities of longarming! We’ll cover a range of fun techniques, including marking, stitching in the ditch, piecing and appliqué, couching, and a load of surface design inspiration. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, there’s always something new to discover. Join us for this creative journey and unlock the full potential of your longarm machine. FAQs

How much is Quilting with Confidence?

Confidence Essentials is free of charge. This event will be held the first day at each QWC location.
QWC includes seven 90-minute sessions and a wrap-up session. Pricing is $379.

What do I need to bring?

Computerized users should bring a laptop with CreativeStudio 7 in Stand Alone Mode to follow along. To download CreativeStudio 7, visit Gammill.com/CreativeStudio. All other supplies and equipment are provided. I

What is Included?

Confidence Essentials is a free event. A boxed lunch will be available for optional purchase.

The fee for Quilting with Confidence includes education, educational materials, lunch, and light refreshments. Hotel accommodations, breakfast, and dinner are not included.

I have a food allergy or special request.

We do our best to provide a meal option that will accomodate as many people as possible. However, we may be unable to accomodate all special requests. Please check with the cateror or staff person at your QWC venue for questions about specific meals. You are also welcome to bring a lunch/snacks with you.

Are the classes hands on?

Yes! The hand guided classes include stitching time on Gammill longarm machines (machines are shared – 2 quilters per machine). Computerized classes include hands on activities using CreativeStudio Stand Alone Mode.

Should I take beginner or advanced computerized?

Students taking the Foundations track will learn how to Navigate CreativeStudio, and use it’s functions, including the Edge to Edge function. This track covers roll quilt, re-locate and restart quilting after a thread break/bobbin change. Students will utilize the features of CS to place designs in a simple custom quilt and will watch in real-time as the designs are stitched out on the QWC 2024 Foundations panel using the Statler Ascend. Students will have the opportunity to practice what they learn during class on their laptop in SAM. Students should bring a laptop with CS installed.

Students who have a good knowledge base of CreativeStudio and its features, and are proficient with the Edge to Edge function should consider the Advance track. The Advanced track will cover Repeat Patterns and will utilize other functions to teach students how to create their own designs. Students will learn how to edit, adjust, and create new patterns to fit on the QWC 2024 Advanced Panel, including adding Text, making and stitching an applique on the quilt top, and stitching around pieced applique. Students will follow along with the PowerPoint presentations, and have time to practice each lesson during class on their laptop in SAM. Students need to bring a laptop with CS installed.

Are there special rates at nearby hotels?

Some of the QWC events will be held at hotels that offer a rate for attendees. An e-mail will be sent to participants about rates and area hotels.

Who should attend?

Everyone! The Quilting with Confidence events are open to all longarm quilters or those interested in longarm quilting. It is not necessary to own a Gammill. The computerized sessions are geared toward Gammill CreativeStudio users. The hand guided session, as well as Confidence Essentials, are appropriate for all longarm quilters. This is also a great opportunity for those interested in learning more about longarm quilting.

I would like to share a room or travel expenses with a fellow quilter.

Will items be for sale at the event?

Yes! We will have a store available for shopping. The store includes items that you will use in class if you would like to purchase something you have used such as a panel or ruler. There will also be Gammill gear and some small parts and supplies.

Who will teach at the event?

Gammill’s team of trained educators will be presenting at the various events. The educators who will be at each individual event will not be announced beforehand. The Gammill education team has worked diligently to create content and an educational experience that is consistently outstanding for each student.

What is the cancellation policy?

0 to 10 days prior to the event: No Refunds
11 to 30 days prior to the event: Refund less $100 cancellation fee.
More than 30 days prior to the event: Refund less $50 cancellation fee.
