2020 Quilting with Confidence Events

4/14/2020

As we navigate these new circumstances and changing event schedules, our first priority is your health and safety. We are continually evaluating our upcoming events and have made changes to the following educational opportunities:

  • We have extended the early bird registration deadline and the payment deadline for the Quilting with Confidence Retreats.
  • The June Quilting with Confidence Retreat at the Westin Lake Las Vegas has been postponed until Sept. 3-6, 2020. There are no other changes to the retreat dates at this time.
  • The Quilting with Confidence Tour Stops in Australia have been postponed. New dates will be announced as soon as they are available.
  • We are working to finalize the 2021 tour stop schedule. April and May events will be moved to the fall and adjustments will be made to the existing fall schedule as well to accommodate these changes.

We are so disappointed to not be able to see you all in person in the upcoming weeks. We know you still want to increase your skills and confidence levels, which is why we are constantly working on new ideas and opportunities. With the help of technology, we are able to connect with you in new and amazing ways to continue bring education to you during this time of social distancing.

Details about Event Changes

Early Registration Extended

Although we are optimistic the impacts from COVID-19 will have passed by our summer retreat dates, we understand that it is difficult to make travel plans during this time. We have extended our early bird deadline for the retreats until May 28, 2020. In addition, we have extended our payment schedule. The 50% deposit on the retreat will be due May 28, 2020 rather than April 15, 2020.

Lake Las Vegas Quilting with Confidence Retreat:

The Quilting with Confidence Retreat scheduled for June in Las Vegas will be moved to Sept. 3 to 6. There have been no changes to the schedule for our retreats in Utah, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Canada and Tennessee. For those who have pre-registered for Vegas, your pre-registration will be automatically rolled over to the September dates. If you would prefer to apply your deposit to a different 2020 tour or retreat event or a 2021 event, you may do so by emailing contact@gammill.com.

Australia Events

Our events in Australia previously scheduled for July have been postponed due to the uncertainties with travel restrictions abroad. Australian Gammill Dealer River City Sewing will be providing further details about these postponements for those who have already registered. We will announce the new dates as soon as they are available.

Tour Stops

All tour stops for April and May have been postponed. We are rescheduling these events for the fall. Some changes to the fall schedule have been necessary as well. We will have the new schedule out as soon as possible. You can still pre-register for events at Gammill.com/QuiltingWithConfidence. Those who have already pre-registered will be able to apply their deposit to any of our 2020 or 2021 tour stops or retreats.

3/13/2020

Dear Gammill Family,

We are so saddened to announce that we are postponing our Spring 2020 Quilting with Confidence Tour Stops. There are valid health concerns for people with preexisting conditions and of certain ages, and of course, we would never want anyone to get sick from attending an event, even if they were not in one of those groups. We are very disappointed as we were looking forward to seeing all of you!

This only affects the Tour stops scheduled for April and May. At this point in time the Cruise (June 5-12) (more info at Gammill.com/Alaska), all Retreats (June-September) and the fall tour stops are not affected. We will continue to monitor the situation with regards to these later events, and update you should any further changes become necessary.

For those who are already pre-registered for our spring tour stops, we are currently working with our event venues to schedule new dates for tour stops in the Summer/Fall 2020. Those who have pre-registered for the spring events will have the option to apply their deposit to one of the following options:

1. Your location/event at its rescheduled date.
2. A different 2020 tour or retreat event.
3. A 2021 tour or retreat event.

We will send further details to those already registered along with instructions on how to select one of these options via email and we will post on our social media channels as soon as more information is available. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these unusual circumstances.

We know that you want to be confident quilters and many of you were looking forward to attending these events to increase your skills and confidence levels. We are sad that current events are preventing us from bringing these opportunities to you in person.

At the moment we at Gammill are all furiously readjusting to continue to bring you education, but in a way that you can do from home. These were things we had in the works, but not finished yet. We are now bringing them to the top of our list so we can provide you with tools for you to increase your quilting skills from home, as many of us may be spending significant amounts of time there over the coming months.

While we will not be able to gather in person this spring, this does not change your awesome abilities to learn and grow as quilters. Keep up the good work. Sign up for one of our home learning options when we announce them in the coming weeks. Keep practicing your skills. Keep blessing the people around you with the beautiful quilts you make. And we will see you at the rescheduled events later in the year!

Pray for those affected by the illness and for rationality for everyone else as we face these challenges. And, more than anything, keep living your quilting dreams!

Michelle

Updated 3/25/20
When we held our first Gammill cruise in 2017, the most common question on the ship was “when do we sail to Alaska?” Since then, many of us have been dreaming of glaciers and counting down the days until we would see the whales. Unfortunately, Royal Caribbean has just announced that the Alaska cruise for June has been canceled. We know this is disappointing news for all of us and we will so miss seeing everyone in June. More information has been sent to those registered for the cruise.  Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you on the seas again very soon.
