Coming in 2019 to more than 50 cities worldwide, the Quilting with Confidence 2019 Tour by the Gammill Quilting Institute. Take classes in a convenient location near you from Gammill Educators. You will gain knowledge and support to put you on the path to becoming a confident quilter.   You do not need to own a Gammill machine to attend.

 About the Tour

Who should attend?

All longarm quilters or those interested in longarm quilting are welcome! It is not necessary to own a Gammill to attend. Classes will be available for both computerized and hand-guided quilters of all skill levels.

What education is provided? 

Each Quilting with Confidence tour stop will be a two-day event with hand-guided and computerized classes taking place both days. The second day of sessions will be more advanced than the first, however, it is still applicable to most all skill levels. Attendees can attend one or both days of the event. Each day will include at least six hours of instruction. Computerized education will be provided lecture style. Class descriptions & schedules are available at the bottom of this page. Students need to bring a charged laptop with CreativeStudio 7.1 installed. Gammill longarm machines will be available for hand-guided classes.

What is the cost to attend?

The cost to attend a Quilting with Confidence event is $175 USD for one day or $300 USD for both days.  Also included in the price is lunch and an afternoon snack.

Who will be teaching at the event?

Each Quilting with Confidence tour stop in the US and Canada will be taught by three (or more) Educators from our amazing education team. Click here to meet them. Which Educators will be teaching at each location will not be announced prior to the events as with the number of events and varying attendance at each event schedules may need to change. All of our Educators have been working as a team for months to develop an outstanding curriculum which will be presented at every Quilting with Confidence Tour stop. This means that no matter where you live or which Educators are presenting, you will get to benefit from the best of knowledge of all these Educators and the Gammill staff! What do I need to bring to the event?

Hand-Guided: For hand-guided quilters, all classroom supplies will be provided at the event. 

Computerized: Computerized quilters should bring a charged Windows PC with CreativeStudio 7 installed. It will also be helpful to have a PatternCloud account and know your PatternCloud login e-mail and password. 

Feel free to bring a quilt top to the question and answer session. 

Lunch and an afternoon snack are provided. 

Parts, supplies and promotional items will be available for purchase at the event. 

What time does the event start?

Each Quilting with Confidence event will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Day 1 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Day 2. For a complete schedule, click here or scroll to the bottom of this page.

Hand-guided classes will be hands-on sessions using a Gammill Vision 2.0

Avoiding Downtime (Day 1 – 90 minutes) No one needs quilting downtime! Learn basic maintenance routines that will keep your quilting machine in good working condition.

Take Control (Day 1 – 90 minutes) What’s the secret to fabulous flowing quilting? Muscle Memory! This class will show you HOW to practice free motion quilting to develop muscle memory quickly. You’ll improve consistency and control while experiencing an increased smoothness and flow to your quilting.

Fill as You Will (Day 1 – 180 minutes) Want to learn some new fill designs? Learn how to use different textures to create levels of dimension in your quilting with some new fills that can be used small scale, or for larger over-all quilting designs.

Q & A Forum (Day 1- 60 minutes) Ask the experts, get advice or show off your latest creations in this interactive forum. You will learn how to make the best quilting decisions and enhance the beauty of the design. Members of the class are invited to bring one piece to share and discuss potential quilting designs (as time allows).

Feathers for All (Day 2- 180 minutes) Do you love feathers? Feathers are a favored motif in quilting! In this class, you’ll learn the two most loved methods of making feathers as well as unlock the door to unlimited feathering possibilities.

Walk the Line (Day 2 – 90 minutes) This class is designed for you! It will teach you how to use your rulers safely, confidently and with precision! You’ll also learn techniques to use the ruler markings to create a variety of textures and designs.

Fabulous Fixes (Day 2 – 90 minutes) In this class learn tips and techniques to give you the skills and confidence to tackle common quilting challenges.

Computerized classes will be taught lecture-style in stand alone mode. Students need to bring a fully charged laptop with CS7.1 loaded. For assistance, please contact your Gammill dealer.

Manage those Patterns (Day 1- 90 minutes) Learn all about the integrated tools available to help you sort, search, tag, and manage your patterns in CreativeStudio and the PatternCloud. Easily find the pattern that you are looking for and never lose patterns again with the backup system available through the PatternCloud.

Navigating CS7 (Day 1- 90 minutes) Navigating CS7 – Learn all about the tools and resources available to you in CS7 to make your quilting time more efficient, productive and fun!

The Power and Potential of E2E Mode (Day 1- 90 minutes) In this class you will learn about the three parts of edge-to-edge mode, and how to easily audition, concatenate and manipulate patterns in SAM.

Q & A Forum (Day 1- 60 minutes) Ask the experts, get advice or show off your latest creations in this interactive forum. You will learn how to make the best quilting decisions and enhance the beauty of the design. Statler – Trim and Fill with Ease (Day 2- 90 minutes) Find out how to get the most out of CreativeStudio and your patterns by learning when and where to use the trim and fill features. Gain confidence knowing that you can customize that next quilt by making the patterns work for you.

Elevate – Using CS7 to Elevate your Capabilities Even Further (Day 2 – 90 Minutes) Expand your pattern library with CS7. Learn how to use the patterns you manipulate in CS7 on your Elevate. You will learn the ins and outs of using the PatternCloud, syncing and uploading patterns.

Border Corner Feature for Fast Framework (Day 2- 90 minutes) Learn to set up your border and corner patterns to stitch continuously around the corners. . Understand border and corner pattern selection considerations including type and orientation. Learn tricks for dealing with shrinkage in borders and imperfect (wonky) quilt tops. See options for finishing the bottom and side borders, too.

Pattern Play (Day 2- 90 minutes) Let’s learn new ways to play with those patterns using Draw Pattern, Apply Pattern, Concatenation, Decorative Stitches, Text and more. We’ll also look at options for altering patterns and even creating new ones!

Draw, Design, Create (Day 2 – 90 minutes) Learn to use the toolbox provided by Creative Studio to design, create, and modify your patterns to fit your quilt. We will be using draw arc/line, circular array, import image, and save pattern to create just the right pattern for your quilt. Schedules and curriculum subject to change.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by participant: If circumstances change and you can no longer attend Quilting with Confidence, you may cancel your registration by providing written notice to education@gammill.com. The refund policy is as follows:
Cancellation 31 days or more prior to the event: A partial refund of the registration fee less a $50 administration fee.
Cancellation within 15 to 30 days of the event: a 50% refund of the registration fee.
Cancellations within 0 to 14 days of the event: no refunds will be issued.
As we commit expenses for each attendee well in advance of the conference, we must strictly adhere to this policy. Individuals are solely responsible for canceling their own hotel and travel reservations. Gammill and Gammill dealers are not responsible for any other costs which attendees may have incurred including but not limited to travel, hotel, car rental, insurance, other misc. purchases and/or rentals.
