Quilting Tips / Re: Tension issues

Can you give us an idea of the threads you have tried?

Do you have a Towa bobbin tension gauge?  They are very helpful in sorting this kind of thing.

I'm new to the forum, but I am happy to be a resource for anyone needing help in Canada.  As my friends know I'm quick with an opinion  :D

I don't know about winning a shirt and the context of that, but we do sell Gammill Girl and Statler Anniversary shirts in Canada.

Hand Guided Quilting / Re: Problems with Superior Magnifico Thread

This is not uncommon on older machines.

Gammill has changed the threading path to help with this.  Look at the first video on the Gammill Service and Maintenance Videos Page:
You will see we now recommend doing a loop around the intermittent tension device.  To do this on an older machine you will have to loosen the nut behind the tensioner and rotate the thread guide arm from 4:30 to 3:00 and then tighten the nut again.  Now you should be able cleanly thread through the intermittent device and your thread should never pop out again.
