CreativeStudio / Re: CS at startup and repeatable table position
« on: November 02, 2016, 10:27:57 AM »
Hi there,
It sounds like one of your handle switches is activating when you don't mean for it to. Which means it will need to be replaced. A problem like this can happen with either the front or rear switches even if you don't use the rear ones. The vibration of the machine can cause them to go out.
You'll need to remove each handle switch to determine which one is the issue. Start by removing the one you use most often. Make sure the wires are not touching each other or the handle itself. You might wrap the wires in batting to keep them apart. Then start CreativeStudio. If you are able to move to a repeatable table position and click OK, replace that switch and you'll be good to go. If not, put that switch back in and remove the next one.
Please let me know if you need anything else!

Statler Maintenance / Re: Keypad lag with CS
« on: September 16, 2016, 02:01:58 PM »
Hi there,
Has anything changed on your computer?
Sometimes if the firewall gets turned on inadvertently it can create a lag in communication.
The other thing I would try is to turn everything off and then go to the back of the machine head. Unplug and replug the rectangular cable connection. That's the Z signal cable. It sends the signals for the keypad on the machine. Then go to the back of your controller (it looks like a computer, but it doesn't say Dell on the front).
Unplug the cable marked Z and plug it back in. Sometimes the vibration of the machine can cause things to wiggle loose and that makes issues with communication as well.
If these things don't fix the problem, let me know.
Thank you,

Hi there,
I'm going to need some more information from you.
Are the lines on the CAD screen of the monitor? Or across the whole monitor?
Did you unplug the cables at the back of the monitor and the back of the computer and plug them back in? Or just push on them?
Let me know on these.
Thank you!

Statler Maintenance / Re: Gallil Error: Hit an obsticle
« on: May 04, 2016, 04:07:28 PM »
Hello there,
To remedy this, the first thing I would do is turn everything off and go to the back of the machine head.
You'll see 2 or 3 cables attached there. Unplug them and plug them back in tightly. Then go to the back of your controller and do the same. Sometimes the vibration of the machine can wiggle things loose and cause intermittent issues like this.
If this does not fix the issue, please contact me at statlersupport@gammill.com
Thank you,

CreativeStudio / Re: record pattern appears upside down on cad
« on: February 09, 2016, 10:20:17 AM »
I have something for you to try. In CreativeStudio, go into Tools, Technical Support, Controller Definitions. In that box, go up to File, Open. That will bring up a box that says Select a Def file to open at the very top. Click on StitcherDef-SALG-F.defxml Then click Open. In the Controller Definitions box, click on File, then Save and Close. Restart CreativeStudio and then retry your recording function.
Let me know if that fixes the issue.
Thank you!

Hi Dawn,
Can you tell me if you have silver wheels or black wheels on your machine?
It sounds like maybe you have the wrong controller defs. It's an easy fix. I just need to know the answer before I send you instructions so we get the right one.
Thank you so much!

Introduce Yourself / Re: Galil software update
« on: January 28, 2016, 02:28:26 PM »
Hello there,
We don't have the firmware program online as it has a physical cabling component to it as well.
I do have some questions.
Can you tell me if you're getting any error messages when you're trying to load the Firmware CD? Which version number is on the CD that you have?
What version of Windows are you running?
Is this a new computer that you're upgrading to? Or have you had it for a while?
Let me know on these. You can also email me at lisgroe@gammill.com
Thank you,

Statler Maintenance / Re: Galil
« on: November 03, 2015, 09:47:06 AM »
Hi there,
I'm going to need more information from you, but I'll answer what I can.

The Galil is basically the brains of the machine. It's in the controller and it's what tells the machine where to go.

When a machine is losing its orientation, the first things I check are the X and Y pulleys. If any of the pulleys are loose or if there is thread around the pulleys, it can cause the machine to lose position. If you will send me an email, I can send you instructions on checking those.

Intermittent issues like this are difficult to diagnose without extensive troubleshooting. The next time the machine comes up with an Abort Due to Obstacle error follow these instructions: 1. close out of the error (cancel or OK). Go to Tools, Technical Support, Diagnostics. At the bottom of that screen you should see a box that says "Hold Motors." Click on that. That should lock your machine in place. Try moving the machine forward and backwards, side to side, and try turning the handwheel. If the machine moves freely in any direction, please send the results of that test to support@gammill.com. That will give us some information so we can troubleshoot more effectively.

The log files are generally stored on the desktop or in the Statler Stitcher folder. If you are running CS 6, then the log files will be in C:Statler Stitcher/CreativeStudio/ CS log files. Those may or may not tell us anything about this particular issue.

I hope this is helpful for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at lisgroe@gammill.com or support@gammill.com

CreativeStudio / Re: Statler Resources - Videos & Education Projects

Hello June,
CreativeStudio is a Windows based software and isn't compatible with Apple products. CreativeStudio 6.0 requires Windows 7 or 8.1 to run in SAM or in Stitcher mode.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Snyc Grid with Pattern so that I can Restart
« on: July 21, 2015, 09:32:12 AM »
Hi Lisa,
In order to sync up your crosshairs with your machine, you need to do a Relocate. If you are in E2E, you'll want to do a relocate project origin. To do that, first, put your machine head on the very first stitch of the row you're working on. Then on the CAD screen, you'll right click on the first pattern in the row and go down to Relocate, Relocate project origin. A message will come up saying that this will realign all of the patterns in the project. Make sure your machine head is still on that first stitch, then click Yes. Next it will have you recreate your boundary box. You want to make sure to give it your entire quilting area just like when you set up the E2E. Click the upper left hand corner of the quilt up by the pick up bar, then the upper right. Then the lower right all the way down by the belly bar and finally the upper left. That should realign your crosshairs with your machine. You can then use the restart icon and pick a new point to restart quilting.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you and have a great day!
