CreativeStudio / ram adding
« on: August 28, 2017, 05:47:59 PM »
Gammill, you said that I would be able to add ram to my orginal Gammill computer. You did not mention that you "crippled" the system so that it cannot run more than a 32 bit system. the specs for the computer that I received from Gammill say that I should be able to upgrade it to a 64 bit system and add more ram. Unable to do this as you crippled or limited the operating system of said machine away from the specs that that given machine.  Gammill I am disappointed. I have supported you through all the who ha going on re forcing people to buy orginal Gammill computers. But now I may be jumping ship. why did you so severly limit these machines? CS6 runs slow on my current system, I cannot imagine running 7 on and problaby wont now! Shame on you!!!! Paul Statler is problaby sorry he sold out!

CreativeStudio / Cloud ? and features
« on: August 15, 2017, 02:36:58 PM »
"While use of the cloud is highly recommended CreativeStudio 7.0 will run without it. You just will not be able to access all of the great new features." Quote from down load page.

Which of the great new features will not be available if the cloud storage is not used?

CreativeStudio / CS7 is going to be fantastic!
« on: May 08, 2017, 11:27:37 AM »
Well, home from the CS7 workshop. I want to thank At the Heart Quilting in Beloit Wisconsin for putting on this workshop. Any many thanks to JoAnn Knight and Pat Barry for an interesting and informative program.  CS7 will be a new jewel when it finally appears in its final form!

Like always after these workshops, my head is crammed so full of all the information concerning the new features and tools and improved featrues and tools, they are leaking out my ears.

I am so looking forward to when the new working version is released, it will be worth the wait.

I would like to list the features but as I look at my notes, (6 double sided pages) it would take to long! I am listing a few, remember they are still improving and correcting so things may change and even get better.and I cannot remember everything, these are just the highlights I can remember.

Pattern manager is the greatest improvement, taking the time to further organize and even reorganize existing patterns will be worth it. Being able to: develop your own pattern catalogs, mark favorite patterns, sort by categories, newest, favorites, author, or alphabetical. Further categorize by collections and your personal tags. Dragging the pattern from sorted list directly into your project. In the future, being able to download a pattern before you purchase to see if it works, are just a few of the ways that pattern manager can work for you.

The current pattern selected is now the universal color of highlighting yellow, makes it really easy to be sure what pattern you are using.

Boundries no longer have a baseline, (default) you can add these feature back if you use it.  You can now echo a boundry or a trim.

You can set up one edge to edge with a pattern, and then by clicking on another pattern, it will "pop" into the set up you have already developed. Great way to show a customer multiple options for a quilt, with just a click.

Can change stitch length on the fly, speed on the fly.  Remember trying to use the control arrow, to move patterns and the move too far, Alt key and arrow "slides" that pattern instead of jumping it.

You can draw multiple boundries and trims at one time. Circular array is a great feature and so much easier to use in the new version.

Pattern set up is easier, and seeing the attributes is also easier. borders and corners can be used in SAM, same with edge to edge (I think)

These are just a few, like I said cant remember them all off the top of my head. Also I need to be off and catch up on customer quilts.

If you get the opportuintiy to go to a workshop that introduces CS7 my suggestion is to GO!

Oh, by the end of the workshop, I have forgiven Gammill for the "butt ugly" visual interface.

The way CS7 will improve and enhance the ability to accomplish tasks more quickly is worth the trade off.

Thanks Matt Sherman and Gammill.

CreativeStudio / visability of new icons
« on: April 01, 2017, 06:02:25 PM »
I dont know about anyone else, but since all the icons are the same ugly color and smaller than the old Icons, I KNOW that I will not be able to see them when I am at the opposite end of the table!
What does everyone else think?

CreativeStudio / Keep Calm and Turn the Program ON
« on: March 31, 2017, 09:33:25 AM »
I have decided to calm myself down and give this new program a chance.
really what choice do we have?

I am not liking getting used to relearning steps that have become habit and require no though, IE button seqences etc, but things change and digging in and being stubborn does not help the transition process, Here or anywhere else in life.

I am playing with the program at night while watching the tube.

It is a little frustrating, but what ya gonna go. There are greater problems in this world.

That being said, I still think the interface is butt ugly!

CreativeStudio / what were you thinking?!
« on: March 30, 2017, 02:01:13 PM »
Initial reaction to this new release.

I dont like it!  ugly interface! It appears to me they took an easy program and made it way too complicated!

not sure how pattern manager works appears if you want to use it you have to purchase I Pattern.

I cant even figureout how to add a pattern not already in the app.

the screen does not appear to reflect the zoom ratio correctly.

I have set at 100 percent, with 1 inch grid and the square is not anywhere near a one inch square! way too small.

I know I can be app challenged, but this seems way more complicated to use than cs6.

I have a workshop beginning of May. wont be playing with this until then!
Not impressed Gammill!  UGLY

Statler Maintenance / Galil
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:20:54 AM »
Exactly what is the Galil and how does one know if it is going bad. My machine get moderate use.

My machine frequently loses its orientation to the project.
generally happens when I am working in p2p.
the entire project moves far away from the cross hairs for no reason.
I also get errors that I have hit an obstacle and the head is in the middle of the table. nothing there.
Last time this happened, the dialog boxes were behind the main screen. I didnt even see the message until i was shutting down.
It was suggest to reload cs6 I have done that, some relief but errors are beginning to happen again.
and now that I have reloaded i am guessing there is no log of the errors that have occured.
how do i print out those logs. I want to begin doing this after each project, so I can be clearer when
talking to tech.

Tools and Accessories / Tablet mounted on Machine
« on: July 28, 2015, 07:02:12 AM »
Here are two pics of how I have mounted my tablet on my machine.
I found the mount at mount guys on the web.
It is called a auto floor mount. it comes in 18 and 22 inches.
this is the 18.
the bar is flexible, but very stiff, and the head swivels and tilts.

I really like using the tablet!

Machine Maintenance / unusual sound from back of machine
« on: July 27, 2015, 03:36:18 PM »
This morning, the machine was making a repetitive tocking sound, (not ticking) from the back of the machine,
It is coming from under the black housing next to the motor. any idea what this sound could be.
the machine is running great  :D, and the sound has lessened as the day goes on.
Could the motor brushes be going. I have had the machine 2 years. On scale of 1-5 I would describe usage as a 3.
Any help would be appreciated
